Monroe County Climate Adaptation and Resiliency PlanDES Holding Public Meetings in Chili and Parma
Community members are invited to participate in the upcoming public meetings held by the Department of Environmental Services to provide input on Monroe County’s Climate Adaptation & Resiliency Plan (CARP).
The CARP will assess the vulnerability of the County’s infrastructure, programs, and human and environmental services to a changing climate. It aims to establish a strategic framework of policies, programs, projects, and partnerships that will provide a clear, actionable pathway to build a more resilient Monroe County for all. The CARP builds on the work of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the County’s Climate Action Plan.
“Our county has made significant progress to reduce its carbon footprint and create a more sustainable environment. From reducing greenhouse gas emissions from county fleet vehicles to saving energy at county buildings and facilities and improving sustainable materials management to reduce waste, we have been busy working toward the goals set by the Climate Action Plan,” said County Executive Adam Bello. “At these upcoming meetings, I encourage everyone to get involved in this critical process and help us transform Monroe County into a cleaner and healthier community for generations to come.”
The meetings will include a presentation and interactive activities to explore climate vulnerabilities throughout Monroe County.
Public meetings on the west side of the county will be held on:
- April 28, 6 to 7 p.m.,at theChili Community Center, 3237 Chili Avenue, Rochester
- May 6, 6 to 7 p.m.,at theParma Public Library, 7 West Avenue, Hilton
