Brockport Receives Trail Town Grant
Supporting New Brochures
The Village of Brockport has been awarded a $3,600 Trail Town Grant from Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) to develop and print new brochures highlighting the village’s connections to the Erie Canalway Trail and other local recreational opportunities. The brochures will be distributed through the Brockport Welcome Center.
The grant is part of a $60,000 regional investment supporting six Western New York communities along the Genesee Valley Greenway and the western portion of the Empire State Trail. Other awardees include Avon, Belfast, Mount Morris, Perry, and Scottsville. Funded by the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, these Trail Town Grants support a broader initiative aimed at boosting local economies by leveraging visitation to nearby public lands. The grants are used to promote place-making efforts, improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and implement community-driven projects that prioritize active transportation alternatives for cyclists and pedestrians.
