AREA: Harris, Dorothy, died April 25, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Harris (2012); granddaughter, April Gross; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Colaprete. She is survived by her children, Nancy Colaprete, Donna Merino, Daniel Colaprete, and Ronald (Melissa) Colaprete; grandchildren, April Gross, Gabriella Gross, Sariah Gross, Jason Merino, Danielle Kruger, Thomas Colaprete, Grace Colaprete (Matthew Trout), and Samuel Colaprete; and four great-grandchildren. Dorothy Harris, born August 2, 1932, lived a life defined by strength, independence, love, and resilience. She was a hardworking and determined woman who took great pride in the life she built for herself and her family. She spent many years employed at GM, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication. Dorothy shared 25 years with her husband, Robert Harris, whom she married on February 23, 1987. Together, they built a life filled with pets, love, memories, and travel. She found joy in the simple things: spending time at home, tending to her garden, and caring for those she loved.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Walker Brothers Funeral Home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, followed by her Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Garland Cemetery, West Ridge Road, Clarkson.
BROCKPORT: Lage, Marilyn Jeanne “Mimi,” of Brockport, NY, passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on May 4, 2026, at the age of 94. She is predeceased in death by her parents, Walter (Gertrude Herod) Lage, brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Reta) Lage, sister and brother-in-law, Edythe (Milt)Downey. Survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Walter “Bud” (Cynthia)Lage, nieces and nephews. She was a devoted Catholic, a member of the Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a retiree of Grumman Aircraft on Long Island, NY. She took much pleasure in watching the Rosary and Mass on TV and in raising cats throughout her life.
At her request, there will be no calling hours; a Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held at a later date at the Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 125 Main St, Brockport, NY. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15th, at 10:30 am in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Brockport.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Elderwood, Brockport, NY, on the 2nd and 3rd floors, for the loving care she received during her stay there.

CHURCHVILLE: Peters, Gregory J., age 64, died April 26, 2026. Gregory was predeceased by his parents, Joan and Dale Peters, and grandparents, John and Mildred Ramsey, and Harold and Estelle Peters. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Peters (fiancé Peter); siblings, Deborah Janes, Jeffrey (Betty) Peters, Bruce Peters; nieces and nephews, Matthew and Benjamin Janes, Megan McDonald (Andrew), Andrew Peters (Michelle), and Michael Peters; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and uncle, Terry (Debbie) Peters. Greg was a graduate of Spencerport High School and WEMOCO, specializing in food service. He worked in area restaurants, bakeries, Sam’s Club, and Wegmans. His passion was cooking and baking, especially making homemade bread and Italian and Mexican dishes. He was a self-taught electric guitar player, and his taste in music included blues, rock ‘ n ‘ roll, and Irish music.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, at 12 p.m. at Union Congregational United Church of Christ, 14 North Main Street, Churchville. Interment at Creekside Cemetery, Churchville. HAMLIN: Hohman, John M., died April 7, 2026, at age 72. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Hohman, and his sister, Linda Hohman. John is survived by his son, Alan (Jenn) Aratari; grandson, Jacobly; and the mother of his son, Kim (Loren) Parsels. John dedicated much of his life to serving his community as an active member of the Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department. Over 46 years of service, he earned the distinction of Fire Exempt, proudly wearing helmet #124. John had a deep love for the fire service, especially the camaraderie of the department, the fire trucks, and lending a hand at the firemen’s chicken BBQs. He enjoyed visiting Keuka Lake, where he treasured time spent relaxing and taking in the beauty of the surroundings.
Family and friends can call on Friday, May 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton, where a Prayer Service will be conducted by the Hamlin Fire Department at 6:30 p.m. near the conclusion of calling hours. Interment in Webster Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family. HILTON: Townsend, Frederick Gunnison, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, service, and a lifelong love of music. He was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Marjory Townsend; his siblings, Margery Goodnough, Elizabeth (William Lawrence) Millard, Dorothea Mikelson, and Theodore Townsend; his son-in-law, Keith Drake; his daughter-in-law, Yukiko Townsend; and his sister-in-law, Phyllis Townsend.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years, Jeanne; his brother, Wilfred Townsend; his children, Kate Fleury, Milon (Kiyoko) Townsend, Lee Grinnell, and Theodore Townsend; his grandchildren, Jem (Michele), Amanda (Daniel), Aaron, Samantha, Young-Hi, Timo, and James; his great-grandchildren, Greysen, Logan, Rhys, Ella Sue, Charlotte Jeanne; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Frederick honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1952. Following his military service, he dedicated many years as a respected and admired music teacher in the Gouverneur and Hilton School Districts, where he inspired generations of students with his passion, patience, and talent.
Beyond his career, Frederick found great joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved reading, exploring the outdoors through hiking and camping, traveling to new places, creating finely crafted woodwork, and above all, sharing and enjoying music.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Hilton Baptist Church, 50 Lake Avenue in Hilton, immediately followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be held in Parma Union Cemetery at 11 am on Wednesday, May 20.
Frederick will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, humor, and the harmony he brought into the lives of so many.
KENT: Snyder, Maryann “Cookie,” age 76, died May 2, 2026. She was born September 14, 1949, in Albion, the daughter of the late Leslie and Maryann T. Becker. On July 28, 1967, she married Gilbert M. Snyder, and together they celebrated 58 years. In addition to her husband, Gil, Cookie is survived by daughters, Susie (Leslie) Young (Sam) of Leicester and Melissa Putnam of Bergen; son, Gilly Jr. of Penfield; grandsons, James Wooldridge of Kent, Sammy Young Jr. of Warsaw; granddaughter, Maddie Young of Warsaw; sisters, Jeanette (Carl) Babcock of Albion, Lori (Gerald Sr.) Ford of Kent; brother, Leslie (Dawn) Becker Jr. of Churchville; several nieces and nephews; close friend, Anita Platt of Kent; and her beloved dogs, Billy and Bella. Cookie was a housewife and a member of Albion Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and watching and feeding birds.
Cookie’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Avenue, Albion, on Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 9, at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment in Mt. SPENCERPORT: Clifford, Jeremiah Joseph, born September 5, 1934, died May 3, 2026, at age 91. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary Lou (Hawkins) Clifford; son, Timothy (Yvonne) Clifford; daughters, Mary (Gary) Brown, Kathryn (Kenneth) Smith; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Jean Clifford; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Jeremiah John Clifford, and parents, Timothy and Eileen Clifford. Jeremiah dedicated 54 years of service to the Democrat and Chronicle, a career that reflected both his strong work ethic and his deep loyalty. Beginning as a paperboy in his youth, he steadily rose through the ranks to become a printer and eventually a manager, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues along the way. He was a member of the Parish of the Holy Family, where his faith guided his life and values. Outside of work, Jeremiah loved sports and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan.
Jeremiah’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Road, Rochester. Interment immediately following in St. John’s Cemetery, Spencerport. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton.
