Spring 2026 College Sports Honors

•Hilton native and Alfred State junior Karlee Hargather was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Offensive Player of the Year and garnered First-Team All-Conference honors in women’s lacrosse. She led the Pioneers with 58 goals and 45 assists for a total of 103 points.
•Hilton’s Cory Loewke and Jack Schimmel were named to the Empire 8 men’s lacrosse First and Second Team, respectively. Loewke, a senior attack at Alfred University, scored the most goals and points in a single game in both Alfred University and Empire 8 history with 11 goals and 15 points in his senior day game against SUNY Poly. In addition, he broke the school record for the most shots and the most shots on goal in a single season. In the end, he led the Saxons offense and finished with 66 goals and 34 assists with 166 shots, 112 shots on net, and 47 ground balls. Schimmel, a sophomore long-stick midfielder at Nazareth University, gathered after 15 ground balls and 8 caused turnovers in conference play.
•Roberts Wesleyan sophomore and Hilton grad Chase Wilson earned First Team All-East Coast Conference honors along with senior Brady Kustra, while senior Isaac Marrero was named to the Second Team. Wilson led the Redhawks in scoring with 44 goals and 47 points, Kustra was one of the leaders on the defensive end of the field for Roberts with 50 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers, and Marrero was dominant at the face-off X for Roberts as he posted 150 face-off wins and a .658 win percentage. He was also the team leader with 109 ground balls.
•Churchville-Chili grads Michael Sardou and Braedon Reina finished one-two in RBI’s for Monroe County Community College’s baseball team. Both also sported batting averages of over .400.
•Hilton native and Ithaca College sophomore Sheldon Jay Walker III was named All-Liberty League First Team outfielder after posting a .387 average in 35 starts. Walker led the team in at-bats (137), runs (53), and stolen bases (22), while his 53 hits were second on the squad. He produced 17 multi-hit games and scored two or more runs in 16 contests.
•Graduate student Allison Clahane, senior Ella Dossier, and sophomore Lia MacDougall from the Roberts Wesleyan University Women’s Lacrosse team were First Team All-Conference selections, with senior Kadie Tierney and junior Alison Dioguardi (Greece Athena) named Second Team honorees. Clahane led the Roberts defense with 39 caused turnovers and was second on the team with 40 ground balls. Dossier and MacDougall led the offense as the senior had 68 points and a team-leading 56 assists while eclipsing the 200-career point milestone late in the season. MacDougall led the squad with 69 points with 62 goals and added a team-leading 47 ground balls with 36 caused turnovers and 29 draw controls. Dioguardi was the team leader with 91 draw controls and added 41 points on 27 goals and 14 assists. Tierney finished third in scoring with 59 points on 41 goals and 18 assists while chipping in 20 ground balls and 16 draw controls.
•Roberts sophomore Austin Melvin and graduate student Jackson Doran earned the East Coast Conference (ECC) top awards for Men’s Track and Field as the Field Athlete of the Year and the Track Athlete of the Year, respectively, for the 2026 season. Melvin won the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championships pole vault title as he cleared 5.02 meters (16’5 ½”), earning First Team All-ECC honors. He went on to earn First Team All-Region honors and advanced to the NCAA Championships, where he earned another All-American award with his seventh-place finish and a school-record height of 5.26 meters (17’ 3”). Doran won the 800-meter title at the ECC Championships in April with a time of 1:56.94 after winning both the 800-meter and mile titles at the indoor championships with times of 1:54.70 and 4:20.92, respectively.
•Redhawks sophomore Karis Kraf won the East Coast Conference (ECC) Indoor Track and Field Championship title in the pole vault and finished second in the conference at the outdoor championships, and was honored as the Female Field Athlete of the Year. Kraf won the indoor title with a mark of 3.93 meters (12’ 10 ¾”) and placed second at the outdoor championships as she cleared the 4.01-meter (13’ 1 ¾”). She capped the year with an impressive second-place finish at the Division II Championship meet in Kansas with a personal best mark of 4.15 meters (13’ 7 ¼”).
•Churchville-Chili grad and Utica University senior attack Jessica Marciano was named Third Team Empire 8 in women’s lacrosse after she posted 33 goals and 13 assists for 46 points, adding two game-winning goals.
•SUNY Brockport track & field collected 26 Empire 8 All-Conference honors for the 2026 outdoor season, headlined by Gabriel Giannini being named Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Year. The Golden Eagles also placed two student athletes on the Empire 8 “Tomorrow’s Leaders” Team: Mitchell Ellsworth and Monica Cammarota. Nineteen men earned All-Conference honors while the women added seven. The Golden Eagles captured Empire 8 championships in the men’s 100m, 200m, 10,000m, 4×100 relay, pole vault, and javelin. Giannini led all Golden Eagles with five All-Conference selections, including Field Athlete of the Year. Derek Grimshaw and Michael Durski each earned three First Team honors. Brockport set two Empire 8 records as Jared Smith won the 10,000m in 31:00.92. Gabriel Giannini’s decathlon score of 6,797 at the NCAA Championships also broke the conference’s top mark for the event.

•The Golden Eagles flag football team featured four First Team selections and two Second Team honorees after a 9–3 season and a 6–2 mark in conference play. Megan Gerber and Addy VanDewater were named First Team Offense, Lauren Cundra and Ariana Kennedy First Team Defense, and Madison Beardsley Second Team Offense. Cymbri Jefferson was named Second Team Defense. Gerber powered the Brockport offense, rushing for 1,249 yards and 14 touchdowns on 139 carries and completing 70 passes for 915 yards and 15 touchdowns, finishing with a team-high 2,164 yards of total offense. VanDewater led the team with 102 total points, recorded 40 receptions for 622 yards, and a team-best 15 receiving touchdowns. Cundra anchored the secondary, leading the team with seven interceptions and 15 pass breakups. She totaled 48 tackles (46 solo), including 5.0 tackles for loss and one sack. Kennedy led the defense with 65 total tackles, including 62 solo stops. She added 7.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and eight pass breakups. Beardsley led the team with 1,059 passing yards and 18 passing touchdowns. Jefferson finished second on the team with 62 tackles (60 solo) and recorded eight pass breakups.
•In women’s lacrosse, Brockport’s Arianna Reed was named Empire 8 Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-Conference, with Hailey Lewkovich and Christina Ross also First Team selections, Karaline McCarthy a Second Team selection, and Caitlin Mulvihill a Second Team Defense choice. Reed started 16 of 18 games, posting an 8.12 goals-against average and a .485 save percentage with 100 total saves and an 8-5 record. Reed ranked first in the Empire 8 in save percentage and second in goals-against average, leading a defense that allowed 8.22 goals per game. Lewkovich led the Golden Eagles with 53 goals and 14 assists for 67 points. She added 96 shots and four game-winning goals. Ross started all 18 games, totaling 20 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers, and 54 draw controls. McCarthy totaled 49 points on 32 goals and 17 assists, adding 28 ground balls and a team-high 62 draw controls. Mulvihill appeared in 17 games, recording 12 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers.
•Golden Eagles freshman Liana DeValder was selected as Empire 8 Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference in women’s softball. Caitlyn Delaney and Natalie Fass were named Second Team, while Julia Hill was Third Team. DeValder appeared in 22 games with 15 starts in the circle, posting an 11-7 record while leading the team with a 2.37 earned run average and 13 complete games. Dailey started all 36 games for the Golden Eagles and led Brockport’s regular starters with a .325 batting average. She totaled 37 hits, 27 RBIs, seven doubles, and 10 runs scored. Faas provided a major offensive spark throughout her junior season, leading the team with a .448 batting average and a .538 on-base percentage. In 23 appearances, she collected 30 hits, scored 17 runs, and drove in seven runs. Hill reached the 100-career-hit milestone during an impressive graduate season in which she led the program with four home runs and 28 RBIs. She batted .314 with 33 hits, including seven doubles and one triple, while pacing the team with 29 runs scored.
•SUNY Brockport’s Michael Norton was named Empire 8 First Team All-Conference in men’s baseball, while Evan Brock and Brendan Pajak were Second Team selections, and Matthew Coon and Tyler Pohlman were Third Team. Norton posted a .340 batting average and led the Golden Eagles with 17 doubles and two triples while adding eight home runs as a designated hitter. Norton tallied 40 RBIs and scored 44 times while stealing 13 bases. Outfielder Brock batted .311 and tied for the team lead with 48 RBIs and 44 runs with 15 steals. Pajak anchored the Brockport bullpen, recording a 4.10 ERA over 26.1 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .232 batting average. First baseman Coon led the Golden Eagles’ regular starters with a .359 batting average, 12 home runs, and 106 total bases. Pohlman posted a 5-4 record with a 4.28 ERA and led the pitching staff with 61.0 innings pitched and one complete game, while ranking second on the team with 59 strikeouts. •Golden Eagles men’s lacrosse goaltender Jared Kulik was named Empire 8 Third Team after starting all 17 games and logging over 921 minutes in the cage. He recorded a program-record 230 saves on the season and maintained a .548 save percentage, which ranked third in the Empire 8.
