The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) recently issued two travel advisories impacting this area.
State Route 31 (also known as Nichols Street) in Ogden is closed to all traffic between Kirkgate Drive and Thorncliff Road to accommodate a culvert replacement project. Motorists should follow the posted detour using State Route 36, State Route 531, and State Route 259. The road closed on June 30 and is expected to be reopened by Friday, September 25.
There are also lane closures at the intersection of State Route 259 and State Route 33A in Chili through the end of August to accommodate an intersection and traffic signal improvement project. They include State Route 259 between Interstate 490 and State Route 33A and State Route 33A eastbound between Stenwick Drive and Creekview Drive.
Traffic will be controlled with temporary stop signs. Motorists traveling on State Route 33A west of the intersection are advised to follow the posted detour utilizing Interstate 490 and State Route 36. Motorists traveling on State Route 33A east of the intersection are advised to follow the posted detour utilizing Interstate 490 and State Route 204. Motorists traveling on State Route 259 are advised to follow the posted detour utilizing Interstate 490 and State Route 204.
