AREA: Ruhlman, Randy Lee, of Albion, died August 13, 2026, at age 64. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Freda May Barnard, and brother, Edward L. Ruhlman. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Rachael and Chuck Tobin; grandchildren, Caleb, Aaliah, and Charlie of Hilton; father, Dan Barnard, of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Nadine (Kevin) Gallagher, of Hilton; Lisa (Larry) Mitchell of Raleigh, NC; and Amy (Kevin) Cifelli of Medina; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Randy, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served aboard the USS Blakely. He valued the travel, education, and training he received during his years of service and received many commendations. As the Director of Facilities at Hill Haven Nursing Home, Ragu, and Bausch & Lomb, he enjoyed the atmosphere at work, the challenge of troubleshooting and fixing issues, and mentoring others. In his retirement, Randy owned and operated Fitzgibbons Public House and 39 Problems along the Erie Canal in Orleans County. Randy will be remembered for his loving heart, generosity, and sense of humor.
A Celebration to honor Randy’s Life will be held September 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue, Hilton. Donations can be made online to Volunteers of America in his memory.
BROCKPORT: Brundage, Richard C. “Dick,” a longtime Brockport resident, passed away August 30, 2026.
Dick was born June 8, 1936, to Edward and Harriett (Gebo) Brundage and spent his life as a truck driver, which he was very proud of. He retired early, but did some long-haul trips, which his wife, Betty, was able to join him on, enjoying time together. Dick was also a great golfer and loved to watch the Yankees and the Bills.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Beehler) Brundage; daughters, Theresa Dimmick and Lori Brundage; granddaughter, Lindsay (Matt) Batista; and great-grandsons, Jaxon and Weston Batista.
At his request, no service will be held.
BROCKPORT: Hullfish, Suzanne C., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 87. Suzanne was born November 5, 1938. She is survived by her sons, Stephen, Jeffrey, Brian, and Matthew; 9 grandchildren, Nathan, Lauren, Andrea, Haley, Alyxandrea, Quinn, Cole, Taylor, and Malia; and 4 great-grandchildren, Nadia, Phillip, Justin, and Aurelia. Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents, Alfred and Genevieve Coley; and her sister, Virginia.
Suzanne was born in Wichita, Kansas, and was raised in Lawrenceville, NJ. She graduated in 1961 from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve as a Registered Nurse. Sue and her husband, Bill, moved from Washington, D.C., where he was stationed with the Air Force, to Brockport in 1964.
For decades, Sue was a beloved member of the faculty at Brockport High School as a school nurse. She was an accomplished artist and craftsperson and was always creating: from needlepoint and knitting to transforming metal with an acetylene torch. Her knitting skills provided many with comfort through the Prayer Shawl ministry.
Sue is famously known for bicycling across America – from San Francisco to Atlantic City – with her husband and four boys in the summer of 1977. Those are the kinds of opportunities for growth and learning that she was always providing to her children, grandchildren, and members of the community. Sue was a faithful, dedicated, and generous member of her church, The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Brockport, NY, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and helped feed the homeless at a mission in Rochester. Her generosity and willingness to help others were well-known in the community.
A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday, September 5th at 11 am.
BROCKPORT: Johnson, Walter C. Jr., passed away peacefully at the age of 84. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, community service, and warmth. Loved by everyone who met him. Walter was generous in spirit, cared deeply for his family and friends, and took great pride in the simple joy of spending time outdoors mowing his very large yard.
Walter proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970 and went on to complete a dedicated career at Park Ridge (Unity) Hospital until his retirement. A steadfast member of the Brockport Masonic Lodge #173 for over 55 years, he was deeply committed to his community and local history. Alongside his brother Lavern, Walter participated in Robie’s Regiment of Foot Revolutionary War reenactments and was instrumental in the restoration of the Civil War Soldiers Memorial Tower in Brockport.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jennie (April 11, 2026); his son, Andrew (March 5, 2019); and his brothers, Lavern and Stanley.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Karen (Hai); his cherished grandchild, Wren; his brother, Royce; his nephew, Brant (Jeanne); as well as extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on September 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mary Magdalene Church, 1008 Main St., East Rochester, NY. Burial will take place immediately following at Garland Cemetery, 7743 W. Ridge Rd., Brockport, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Walter’s honor to Mary Magdalene Church.
BROCKPORT: Sodoma, Jocelyn Wagner, died August 21, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky. She is survived by her devoted husband, Randy Sodoma; children, Jeffrey (Melanie) Sodoma and Tamara (Dennis) Humbert; grandchildren, Kathryn, Charlotte, and Maverick Sodoma, and Devyn Humbert; brother, Richard (Susan Stryker) Wagner; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary (Lockwood) Wagner; brother, Edward Robert Wagner, Jr.; sister, Carolyn (Wagner) Ellman; and two grandchildren, Charlie and Berlin Humbert. Jocelyn was born May 31, 1951, in Brockport. She graduated from Brockport High School (Class of 1969) and received her Associate’s Degree in Marketing from Monroe Community College. She worked for Kodak, Seneca Foods, and Vietnam Veterans of America, and owned Timespan Resume Service. Jocelyn met her husband, Randy, in kindergarten, and they have been together ever since, sharing 54 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their family. Jocelyn loved attending craft fairs and yard sales, finding great bargains, a porch filled with flowers and gladiolus, listening to the Backstreet Boys, watching, feeding, and keeping records of birds, and screaming at the TV during Buffalo Bills games.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18, at Fowler Funeral Home, Brockport. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., with a Catholic Ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by Graveside Service and Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Sweden. Jocelyn requested that donations be made in her honor and name to Meals on Wheels for Monroe County, which is administered by the University of Rochester’s Medicine Care Foundation. HAMLIN: Ohls, James Robert, died August 13, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Ohls; father, Stanley (Mary) Ohls; sister, Dawn Marie (Kevin) Juneau; niece, Nichole Ellis; mother-in-law, Virginia Harris; children, Alfred Jensen, Sarah Harris, and Erik MacMurray; grandchildren, Clorisa, Chaluer, David, Bella, Jayden, Nicholas, Breanna, Arianna, and Hannah; one great-grandson; brother-in-law, David Harris; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Russel) Adams and Cynthia Carlton; nephew, Joey Buchiere and Joey’s children, Jano and Mia; best friends, Joseph Jensen, Dave (Cathy) Scheck, Arik (Lisa) Gardener, and Doug Montgomery; and many other family and friends. James was predeceased by his mother, Marian Forberg; stepfather, Gary Forberg; father-in-law, Sidney Harris; and granddaughter, Chyra. James was a Navy veteran, stationed on the USS Enterprise as a Nuclear Technician. After his military service, he worked as a seafood chef at Crescent Beach Hotel, then at Eastman Kodak Company in the film production division. He enjoyed playing pool, hunting, and camping.

HOLLEY: Churchill, Sandra L., age 75, died August 27, 2026. She was born February 13, 1951, in Los Angeles, CA, a daughter of the late Alexander Burton and Alice Mae (Thomas) Churchill. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Laskey Charrette, and siblings, Thomas, Delores, Caroline, and Richard. She is survived by her children, Brandon (Angelina Ruiz) Laskey, Wendy (Scott MacGregor) Laskey, Kimberly (Jon) Cwiak; grandchildren, Alexis Christakes, Zane Christakes, Clara Laskey-Ruiz, Ezekiel Christakes, Ella Laskey-Ruiz, Aidan Christakes, Aiyana MacGregor, Anita MacGregor, Isabelle MacGregor, and Callum Cwiak. She enjoyed being out in nature, particularly in her flower garden. Sandra could often be found reading her Bible in her fairy or prayer garden and loved anything to do with bunnies.

SPENCERPORT: Meyer, Gregory Michael, age 59, died August 29, 2026. He was born January 23, 1967, to the late Robert and Marcia Meyer. He is survived by two sons, Joseph Meyer and Jason Meyer; five grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Wyatt, Rian, and Adalynn; siblings, Robert (Claudia) Meyer, Pamela (Alex) Brashich, Matthew Meyer (Amy), Melissa Meyer, and Debra Walker (Patrick); several nieces and nephews; and grand pup, Stella. Greg’s greatest passion was farming. He dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to Stettner Farms, where his mechanical talent and ingenuity were well known. He could rebuild machinery, weld, fabricate tools, and create whatever equipment was needed to get the job done. Greg also cherished the time he spent visiting Pittsburgh, especially attending baseball games with his son. While there, he was always happy to be the family’s “Mr. Fix-It,” helping around the house, repairing cars, and lending his talents wherever they were needed. Greg was a hardworking, talented, generous, and genuine man who found happiness in simple things.
Calling hours were held on September 3 at Walker Brothers Funeral Home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport. Interment was on September 4 at St. John’s Cemetery, Spencerport. Donations in his memory can be made to Little Mended Hearts of Greater Rochester.
