Eleven-year-old Timothy Chaney helps out in his grandmother’s, (Linda LaGorio) neighborhood in Hilton by shoveling out a buried fire hydrant. “He’s a great boy and loves to help,” says his mother, Tracey LaGorio. “He was the first child in Hilton to receive the ‘Do The Right Thing’ award for saving my life when I had a diabetic incident.
He also volunteers in the apple crisp booth at Hilton Apple Fest.” Officials say that shoveling a fire hydrant and making it easier to access saves valuable time for firefighters.
