•Clark, Evelyn M., 89, formerly of North Chili, NY and Heritage Retirement Campus went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday (March 9, 2015) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center surrounded by her family.
Evelyn was born May 15, 1925 in Apollo, PA, the daughter of the late Rev. Ira J. and Roma M. Bush Hancock.
She was a graduate of Washington Township High School and attended Roberts Wesleyan College. In earlier years she was employed by General Motors, Kodak and Chili Plastics. She was a member of Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church, North Chili, NY, Parkridge Free Methodist Church, Greece, NY having served as a Sunday School Teacher and Gerry Free Methodist Church. Evelyn was also a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
Evelyn was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt for her entire life. She enjoyed birdwatching, puzzles and playing card games with family and friends.
Surviving are three children: Robert E. (Beverly) Clark of Sinclairville, Sharon L. (Robert) Griffin of Penn Yann, NY, Renee L. (Edward) Watson of North Chili, NY; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a sister Lawanda Davis of Lockport, NY.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Clark whom she married July 1, 1947 in Paulton, PA, who died November 3, 2013; three sisters: Ruth Warren, Winona Hill and an infant sister Vera Mae Hancock.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Gerry Free United Methodist Church. Rev. David McCarthy pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Gerry Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
