Churchville-Chili senior Lynn L. Atene has achieved the distinction of being named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.
To become a finalist, students must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay and earn SAT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test. Finalists will have an opportunity to compete for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition that began in 1955.
