Monroe County 911 employees complete leadership program

According to 911 Director John Merklinger, four NYS Certified Instructors, Christopher R. Martin, Charles M. Vitale, Jody L. Englert and Joseph E. DeMars, have received the designation of Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, International (APCO).

The RPL Program is a comprehensive 12-month program consisting of intensive course work and several service projects presented by APCO International in cooperation with the American Management Association. Designed to play a vital role in their professional development series, these recipients are members of the training team that prepare and deliver training for the 200 employees of the 911 Center.

All four instructors have been accepted into the APCO Institute’s National Registry of Public-Safety Leaders, and were recognized for their achievement at the Distinguished Achiever’s Breakfast August 18 during APCO’s annual conference in Washington, DC. They received a certificate of completion and the official designation of RPL, a formal and prestigious acknowledgment of excellence within the industry.
