Blue Devils sweep Saints in volleyball

John Bamburoski and Zach Sweet combined for 12 kills to lead Brockport to a 25-15, 25-22, 25-18 boys volleyball win over Churchville-Chili.

Bamburoski had one block and one kill, Shaye Bartnick had two kills and Sweet added one kill down the stretch as the Blue Devils opened up a tight game one with a late rally.

The Blue Devils led by as many as four points in game two before the Saints rallied with a pair of kills from Josh Matthews plus one kill and one ace by Dylan Angora to tie the game 19-19. The Saints completed a 12-6 run and led 22-20 before Brockport closed with a five point rally that included a kill by Sweet and an ace by Bamburoski.

The Blue Devils never trailed in game three as they built an 18-8 lead with an 8-2 run including kills by Hunter Tintera and Jake Vergari. The Saints rallied late with a 7-2 run scoring mostly on Brockport errors, a kill by Matthews and a block from Angora before Brockport closed out the match.

Bamburoski finished with six kills, Sweet matched that and added three blocks, Spencer Anderson led both teams with 15 digs and Bartnick dished out 16 assists for the Blue Devils.
