Volunteers needed to advocate, educate and empower

New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program at Lifespan is in need of volunteers to join a team of advocates for older adults residing in nursing homes, adult care and assisted living communities in Orleans County and surrounding regions.

With just a few volunteer hours each week, one can help ensure quality of care and quality of life for nursing and adult home residents. In building trusting relationships, one will have the opportunity to preserve resident’s rights and safeguard their dignity.

Lifespan is accepting applications for its NYS Mandated Certificate Training held in April. For more information about the application process, dates, times and location of training, contact the Ombudsman Program at 287-6378 or e-mail dfrink@lifespan-roch.org.
