Cosgrove Middle School celebrated its ninth annual Groundhog Olympics on February 12, when students competed by grade level for demonstrating the most school spirit. The annual event marks the mid-year point to acknowledge the great academic efforts of the first semester and encourages students to continue to work hard for the second semester.
This year’s Groundhog Olympics included a surprise faculty flash mob, wacky games and a fundraiser, with an opportunity to give a pie-in-the face to the administrator and counselor with the most voting dollars.

Students and faculty raised more than $1,000 for the Dreams from Drake organization, which provides local children and teens with various forms of support needed while grieving the loss of a sibling or parent.
