Notre Dame College right-hander Jake Welch was named the Mountain East Conference’s Pitcher of the Week after a fantastic performance against Findlay in Winter Haven, Florida during the February 28 weekend.
Welch, a senior from Spencerport, was lights out in a 3-0 victory over Findlay on Sunday afternoon. Welch tossed a one-hit complete game shutout, and struck out eight batters to score his first victory of the season.
