Genealogy Center opens at Gates Public Library
Television shows like ‘Finding Your Roots’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ have turned researching family history into a popular hobby. Now anyone can discover their roots at the Gates Public Library’s brand new Genealogy Center.
The Genealogy Center offers free access to Ancestry.com, Family Tree Maker and hundreds of books on local history and genealogical research.
To kick off the grand opening of the Genealogy Center, the Gates Public Library will host a free class on how to use the popular family history website, Ancestry.com, on Thursday, March 24 at 2 p.m. Call 247-6446 to register.
The Genealogy Center was funded in part by financial support secured by State Senator Joseph Robach, and by donations made in memory of Richard Robillard. The Genealogy Center is located on the second floor of the library during normal operating hours.
