Since 2009, the month of August has been an important time at Lakeview Community Church, as it celebrates its “August Challenge.”
The “August Challenge” is a charity program that collects food for the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf. In previous years, 130 boxes of cereal, 225 cans of peaches, 240 cans of soup, 758 pounds of peanut butter and 1,225 cans of tuna fish have gone to the food shelf.
This year’s challenge is to collect 800 jars/cans of pasta sauce. Patrons may bring sauce to Lakeview Community Church on any Sunday in August at 10 a.m. or on Saturday, August 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Any and all contributions are appreciated.
