Churchville-Chili athletes proudly sign National Letters of Intent

Three of Churchville-Chili High School’s most outstanding athletes were recently awarded athletic scholarships from their chosen colleges. Cross Country/Track champion Anna Kostarellis will head to Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio to compete with the Xavier Musketeers. Katie Cosgrove will join the Blue Devils lacrosse team at Durham, North Carolina’s Duke University. Nina Orlowski will play lacrosse for the Dolphins at Le Moyne University in Syracuse, New York.

Senior Anna Kostarellis has been a member of the Saints Varsity Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track and Field teams throughout her high school career at Churchville-Chili. She currently holds or has broken 21 school records. Anna was also Churchville’s female athlete of the year in 2015 and has won Section V titles and qualified and participated in the state finals and nationals in multiple seasons. A member of the school’s National Honor Society, Kostarellis excels in academics as well as in sports.

A four-time all-Monroe County first-team pick and repeat AGR selection for lacrosse, C-C’s Katie Cosgrove is also an outstanding soccer player. As a freshman and sophomore, she played a major role in leading the girls’ lacrosse team to division titles in both 2013 and 2014. She has also lead the team in scoring over the past two seasons with 57 goals and 15 assists in 2015, and 56 goals and 13 assists in 2016.

With 170 career goals and 229 career points, Cosgrove has an excellent chance to become the school’s all-time leader in both categories this upcoming spring season.

Lacrosse midfield defender Nina Orlowski came to Churchville-Chili from Hilton last year as a junior. She has become a welcome addition to the C-C family. Her ability to adapt quickly to a new team and new program was impressive. Her flexibility as a player has been key to the Saints’ success. Last year, Orlowski played multiple positions and excelled at all while keeping a positive attitude and doing whatever was best for her team.
