Seymour Library and Strong West partner for 2nd Annual Community Holiday Party

Families in the greater Brockport community enjoyed a free community holiday  party Saturday, December 10 at the Seymour Library in Brockport. It was the second year that Strong West and the library partnered on the party, which included holiday treats, cookie decorating, take-home crafts for kids, story times and a visit from Santa.

Children’s Librarian Natalie Burch, who helped organize the event, said the library is always seeking to work with other organizations in the community to best serve Brockport, Clarkson and Sweden residents.

“We especially enjoy partnering with Strong West because they are so generous  with their time and resources,” Burch said. “The holiday party has become a tradition for many families in the area, and it is because of the partnership that we are able to provide such a high quality experience.”

Karin Gaffney Christensen of UR Medicine, said Strong West began the annual party at their campus on West Avenue in the village, but moving the event to the library has meant families who are visiting there can easily join in the fun at the holiday party and, “make a morning of it,” she said.

“It’s great to partner with the library and give something back at the holidays to a community which gives Strong West so much,” Gaffney Christensen said.
