Community invited to presentation of “I’m Not Racist … Am I?”

Brockport Central School District and Hilton Central School District have partnered to host a community presentation of “I’m Not Racist…Am I?” The community is invited to view and discuss the documentary on March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the College at Brockport McCue Auditorium, located in the Liberal Arts Building.

“I’m Not Racist…Am I?” is a feature documentary about how the next generation is going to confront racism. The film follows 12 teenagers from New York City who come together for one school year to talk about race and privilege in a series of workshops and conversations with friends and family members. After the film presentation, a local facilitator will lead the audience in discussion.

“We are excited to offer the community an opportunity to engage in discussion about race and inclusion in a diverse environment,” said Brockport Superintendent Dr. Lesli C. Myers. “Our Board of Education and leadership team will also be viewing the film and discussing ways in which we can continuously uphold our core belief of character: integrity, diversity and respect for all.”

If you would like to attend the presentation and discussion, please contact Brockport Central School District Clerk Stephanie Williams at stephanie.williams@bcs1.org or 637-1939 by March 13. Directions and parking information are posted online at bcs1.org/filmscreening.
