Ogden Police are issuing a scam alert after receiving a report of a resident being called from the phone number 442-243-5485, which showed “Medicare” on the caller ID. The caller stated they needed to verify information, then asked the resident for their social security number and other personal information.
Medicare will not contact you by telephone to confirm information. Contact from Medicare should come via U.S. Mail. Those on Medicare are advised not to give out personal information over the phone.
