Hilton-Parma Recreation is coordinating the 39th annual Merkel/Steve Strong 5 Mile Apple Derby Run, held in conjunction with Hilton Apple Fest. The race is being held, rain or shine, on Sunday, September 30 at 9 a.m. at Hilton High School, 400 East Avenue, Hilton. Runners of all ages and abilities welcome.
The race fee is $25 plus service fee by Friday, September 28 at 11:59 p.m. Registration is online only at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Hilton/HiltonAppleDerbyRun. There will be a free Dri-Fit shirt for the first 50 runners registered. Day of race registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with a $30 fee payable by cash, check or credit card.
There will be cash prizes for the top finisher in every age bracket and the top overall male and female. Age brackets are: U10 (new kids bracket); 10 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; 70 to 79; 80+. Chip timing by PCR Timing.
Changing facilities and bathrooms available at race headquarters, but no shower facilities. There will be a water stop at the half way point, and complimentary drinks and apples following the race.
