Spencerport – Born June 15, 1924. Passed away peacefully at her home on January 9, 2019. Her loving brother-in-law, Ernie and her wonderful caregiver Elly were by her side.
Reita was born and raised in Spencerport. The oldest daughter of Dr. Gilbert and Mildred Youngs. She lived all her life in Spencerport, where she wore many hats. Which included, working in her father’s chiropractic office, part-time at the Ogden Telephone Company, the Spencerport Suburban News, Eastman Kodak and the Spencerport Central School District from which she retired.
One of Reita’s biggest joys was to spend time with her “cronies” at the Ogden Senior Center- playing Cards! She also loved her house in Hickory Hollow where, upon moving there in 2000, she became the social butterfly of the street.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Beyer in 1989, her second husband, Charles Getman in 2008 and her loving sister, Erva Cripps in 2007.
Remaining to cherish her memory is Nancy Beyer (Torben) Andersen of Inverness, FL; her special brother-in-law, Ernie Cripps of Caledonia, NY and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Many friends and her two caregivers, Elly and Christine, whom she immediately grew to love. A special thank you to the graduating class of 1968 Spencerport High School 50th reunion. You guys made her whole day when she got to tour the school. She could not stop smiling.
