The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that the Route 33A (Chili Avenue) bridge over the Erie Canal in the town of Gates and city of Rochester, will be undergoing repairs for approximately a month beginning Monday, July 22.
The bridge will temporarily close to all vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic while crews replace deteriorated steel truss members which will improve the condition of the structure.
A detour will be posted directing motorists to use Buell Road to Brooks Avenue to Genesee Street.
