Seymour Library wins Library of the Year Award

Every year in April the Rochester Regional Library Council (RRLC), hosts their Annual “Library of the Year” Contest, allowing patrons to cast a vote for their favorite library in the Monroe County area. The voting was open to the general public from April 7 through April 13 this year and winners were chosen for each of three categories: public, academic, and school library.

With 652 nominations, the Seymour Library in Brockport won Rochester Regional Library Council 2019 Public Library of the Year. Many of the votes mentioned the library as a community center and gathering place, a love for library programs, how the library serves a population of all ages, and much more.

Members of the Seymour Library staff said, “Thank you to everyone who voted for the Seymour Library and for recognizing the library for all that we do and allowing us to be the heart of the Brockport, Clarkson and Sweden communities.”
