BROCKPORT
•Cappotelli, Sally A., On April 19, 2013 at age 61. Predeceased by her parents Karl and Marilyn Vogt, and her brother Christopher Vogt. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Donald; her sons Todd (Lindsay) and Toby; sister Mary Weaver; brothers, Ted (Nancy) Vogt, John Vogt (Darren), along with treasured aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, plus her faithful friend “Buddy.”
A Funeral Mass was held April 23 at Nativity Church BVM, Brockport. Contributions can be made to Lollypop Farm in her memory.
•Davy, Charlotte W., February 29, 1944 – April 20, 2013. Surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her children Bill (Terri) Charles, Susan (Bob Johnson) Charles; grandchildren, Mary and Kimberly Charles; siblings Cynthia (Fred) Diltz-Dolce, Dwight (Bonnie) Diltz, Yvonne Zimmer, Ed Diltz; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Memorial Service was held April 24 at the First Baptist Church of Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Beikirch Care Center in her memory.
•Kutz, Gladys, died peacefully April 18, 2013 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her three children, Archie (with Pat), David (with Ruthie) and Judy (with Peter); her grandchildren Josh, Celia, Adam, Gideon and Maya; great grandchildren Rosemary and Alexandra.
Gladys (called Gigi by those who knew her), was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1921, grew up in the lower east side of Manhattan. As a young woman she lived in New Orleans, Brooklyn, Vermont and in 1944 met her husband, Joel Kutz, while serving as a member of the first ever Women’s Auxiliary Corps of the US Army. Gladys moved to Brockport in 1947 to support Joel in his veterinary practice and raise a family. She lived most of her life there until 2008 when they moved to Sarasota, Florida.
Gigi was well known for her excellent pot roast, played the cello in the Sarasota Orchestra and loved to win at Trivial Pursuit and Bridge. She was loved by her friends and will be missed.
•Roman, Vivian R., On April 19, 2013 at age 94. Predeceased by her husband Charles, sister B. Ruth Rhodes and brother Ralph Rhodes Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Victoria Thomas and Nancy (John) Maxwell; her sons William (Jean) Roman and Richard (Virginia) Roman; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Edna Tessina; several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service was held April 24 at Lakeview Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Visiting Nurse Service, Meals on Wheels or a charity of one’s choice in her memory.
CHILI
•Bogojoski, Zore, April 20, 2013, at age 70. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sofka; his children, Mirjana Bogojoska and Sasha Bogojoski; three grandchildren, Brooke, Alex and Logan; nephew, Slave (Andriana) Jankuloski.
A Funeral Service was held April 24 at St. Dimitria Macedonian Orthodox Church. Interment, Grove Place Cemetery.
•Gonzales, Margaret F. “Peggy,” On April 16, 2013. Survived by her husband of 56 years, David V. Gonzales; children, Michael (Ann) Gonzales, Robert Gonzales, James (Lisa) Gonzales, Kristen (Shawn) Shonk, Margaret Neu, David Gonzales, Jr., Peter (Jen) Gonzales, Melissa (Mark) Rothfuss; 21 grand and 11 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters; nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held April 23 at St. Christopher’s Church, North Chili. Private Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
GREECE
•Schuth, David H., died April 21, 2013. Predeceased by his wife, Louise H. He is survived by his son, Daniel (Marietta Chiara); grandchildren, David M. (Cathy Lofthouse) Schuth, Lisa (David) Stenshorn and Aleka (Scott) Schmidt; seven great grandchildren. He was a retiree of Rochester Gas & Electric, an Air Force Veteran of WWII and recipient of the Bronze Star.
A Funeral Service was held April 24 at Lakeview Community Church Reformed, Greece. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at Lakeview Community Church Reformed, 30 Long Pond Road, Rochester 14612 in his memory.
HILTON
•Brownlee, Thomas, Suddenly on April 16, 2013. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Gertrude; sister Karen Travis. Survived by his significant other Susan Spry; son John Lee; daughters, Nancy Lee and Autumn Lee; 15 grandchildren; brothers Ernie of Rochester, Billy (Lynn) and Wally of Connecticut, Jimmy of Texas; sisters, Heather Brownlee and Diana (Bernie) Lopresto of Connecticut; brother-in-law Terry Travis of Rochester; several step-children and step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Service to be announced at a later date. Contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Association or Heart Association in his memory.
•Eckerson, Patricia A., April 19, 2013, age 70. Predeceased by husband, Robert C. Eckerson. Survived by daughters, Amy Brough (Scott Bergstrasser), Shelly (Josh) Harper; son-in-law, Jim Brough; grandchildren, Kyle and Seth Brough, Cash and Brody Harper; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held April 25 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Donations can be made to Isaiah House or the Multiple Sclerosis Society in her memory.
KENDALL
•Della Costa, John Michael, Sr., age 69 of Kissimmee, Florida, died April 7, 2013. Born in Kendall, NY, he moved to Kissimmee in 1981. He is survived by his wife, Diana E. Della Costa; sons, John Della Costa of Saint Petersburg, Florida and Marc (Jennifer) Della Costa of Knoxville, Tennessee; brothers, Frank (Gwen) Della Costa, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Richard (Eileen) Della Costa, Kendall; father, Frank Della Costa of Lakeland, Florida and five grandchildren. John retired as a computer facilities manager for Walt Disney World and Osceola County. Mr. Della Costa was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee where he was active in the Knights of Columbus. John was also a volunteer at the Osceola Council on Aging and the Museum of Military History in Kissimmee. John was a Veteran of the National Guard, serving his country during Vietnam.
Funeral Services were held April 9 in Florida. Contributions can be made to the Museum of Military History, 5210 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Kissimmee, Florida 34746 in his memory.
KENT
•States, Greg, Age 44, died suddenly, April 19, 2013. He is a 1987 graduate of Albion High School. Greg served for six years in the U.S. Air Force as a Missile Defense Technician. Locally, he worked as a Computer Support Technician for Erie 1 BOCES in Buffalo. He loved hunting and football. Greg is survived by his parents, Bill and Bette (Crary) States; his wife, Heidi (Saternus) States; close friend Jodi (Coots) States; children, Codey and Peyton States; step-children, Tisha, Cody and Ashton Drought; granddaughter, Ryleigh. He is also survived by his sister Dee Dee (Gerry) DiMarco, and their six children, Emma, Gerry Jr., Julia, Sarah, Ava and Lila; several aunts and uncles.
His Memorial Service was held April 28 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Albion. Contributions can be made to the NRA in his memory.
SPENCERPORT
•Brower, Nelson W. (Buzz), age 74, of Boynton Beach, Florida, died suddenly April 2, 2013. Predeceased by his parents, Craig and Margaret (Cliff) Brower. He is survived by his wife, Steffanie (Taffy) Simmons; four children, Terre (David) Borne, David Brower, Aaron, Kristan (Chris) Reiman; step-children, Rick (Linda) Sweeting, Nancy (Pat) Ferrell, Tim (Traci) Sweeting and Paula (Bruce) Parker. Also survived by siblings Sandra, Karen (Wes) Goehring, Dennis (Joy) and Charles (Lois), and the Simmons family in Hamlin.
Buzz graduated from Spencerport Central School in 1957. In 1960, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany where he served his country until 1963. Following their marriage in 1969, Buzz and Taffy moved to Florida where he started a plumbing business in Boca Raton after earning his Master’s License in Plumbing. He was a successful businessman, enabling him to retire at age 52. His retirement years were filled with golf, woodworking, and his adored grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all. Buzz’s ashes were interred alongside his fellow soldiers at the Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Florida.
•Ritz, Joseph M., On April 19, 2013 at age 69. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Veronica, sister Sharon Phillips, brother Louis Ritz and brother-in-law William Benson. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Sandra; daughter Kimberly (Kenneth) Stewart; sister Shirley Benson; brother Thomas Ritz; sister-in-law Linda Reed; brother-in-law James Phillips; several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Joseph served in the United States Navy and was a retired Railroad worker.
A Funeral Mass was said April 22 at Nativity Church BVM, Brockport. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
•Rogers, Theodore “Theo,” On April 18, 2013 at age 75. He is survived by his wife, Irene Rogers, of 56 years; daughter, Michelle (Ken) Warren; son, Shawn (Joni) Rogers; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Kenny and Brandon; great-grandson, Connor; sister, Marie (Sam) Cariello. Theo served in the Army, worked at Doyle Armored Services, North Eastern Security, and retired from NYS Canal System. He was an active member and former president of the Ogden Historical Society.
A Graveside Service was celebrated April 23 at Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport.
