Calus leads Saints swimmers
Junior Taylor Calus took first in both the 50-freestyle and 100-breaststroke and was part of the winning 200-freestyle relay team to lead Churchville-Chili to their first win of the season; a 93-76 victory over RCSD-United in girls swimming.
Calus touched more than one second ahead of second place in taking the 50 in :27.29 and easily won the breaststroke by five seconds in 1:20.77. She also swam lead in the relay with senior Nina Palmer, eighth-grader Hannah Caldwell and senior Madisyn Randolph in 1:57.16.
Sophomore Kylie Camman was the other individual winner as the Saints swept the top three spots in the 100-freestyle in 1:05.12. Randolph and senior Bryanna Phillips were second and third respectively.
Caldwell and sophomore Allyson Burnett added depth to the Churchville-Chili win with a pair of second place finishes each – Caldwell in the 200-individual medley and 100-butterfly, Burnett in the 200-freestyle and 500-freestyle.
Sophomore Charlotte Bromage helped pad the Saints point-total taking second in the 100-backstroke as did two relay teams – the 200-medley relay with Calus, sister Ryann, Caldwell and eighth-grader Sophia Natale and the 400-freestyle relay with Camman, Randolph, Bromage and Burnett.
