Kendall junior guard Derek Edick scored a double-double, but his Eagles were outscored 15-2 in the second quarter in a 60-39 loss to visiting Pembroke in boys basketball.

Edick knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the first quarter while senior Riley Hirschman had a trey and field goal, senior Mason Kuhn a jumper while senior Dale Steffen and freshman Zachary Barrett scored on fast breaks as Kendall held a 17-15 lead after the first quarter.

The Eagles offense went completely cold in the second quarter as they struggled with full court pressure. Senior Nicholas Spellan accounted for the only two Eagles points of the stanza as Pembroke opened up a 30-19 halftime advantage.

Kendall regrouped in the third quarter thanks to a late 7-0 run as Spellan hit a free throw, put-back, and drive plus an Edick break to trail by 13 points heading into the final quarter. But the Dragons sealed the win by outscoring the Eagles 15-7 over the final eight minutes.

Edick finished with a team-best 15 points with ten rebounds while Steffen led the Eagles with 14 rebounds. Hirschman had five points with five boards, Barrett six points, two steals, and two assists, Spellan seven points, and Kuhn five rebounds and a pair of helpers for the 1-7 Eagles.
