Brockport holds successful mask distribution
The Village of Brockport held a successful and well-organized distribution of masks on May 9 and 13 at the Oliver Middle School. Masks were provided to local municipalities by Monroe County. Volunteers included the mayor and village board, the code enforcement department, deputy clerk, a village resident, two youths, the Brockport Central School District pediatrician, and members of the Brockport Police Department. Over 28,000 masks were distributed during four hours each day. Recipients included village residents along with the Brockport Central School District, Brookdale Assisted Living, Lifetime Assistance, migrant farmworkers, and the Brockport Merchants Association. BCSD security coned out the route to the distribution point, posted signs, and directed traffic to keep things moving. Volunteers were able to streamline the distribution process by grouping masks in bags donated by Brockport Wegmans.
