Public input sought for Long Range Transportation Plan
The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, is seeking public input to develop the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to establish transportation priorities and strategic direction for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes region. Once complete, LRTP 2045 will be used by federal, state, and local governments to guide transportation investment decision making in our region over the next 25 years.
GTC will host an online public information meeting on Tuesday, August 25, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The session will be recorded and available for later viewing. People can access the meeting with a computer or mobile device on a dedicated, project webpage www.publicinput.com/LongRangeTransportationPlan or phone in to listen to the audio portion at the same time by calling toll-free to 855-925-2801 and entering code 9000 to join the correct meeting. Follow the prompts to leave a voice mail message or to be added to the speaker queue to speak directly to the project team.
A survey is available to collect input through Friday, September 4. Questions cover topics ranging from past and future travel behaviors and patterns, assessment of the current transportation system, anticipated challenges, and recommended solutions.
Individuals may access the short survey online with a computer or mobile device by visiting www.publicinput.com/LongRangeTransportationPlan, or by texting the letters LRTP to 855-925-2801. Call 585-232-6240 to request a paper copy.
Alternatively, people may call a toll-free phone number to leave a general voice message in any language at any time. The phone number is 855-925-2801, code: 9000.
Or, people can submit comments by sending email to LongRangeTransportationPlan@publicinput.com or sending a letter to Genesee Transportation Council, 50 West Main Street, Suite 8112, Rochester, NY 14614.
Contact GTC at 232-6240 or contactgtc@gtcmpo.org to make other arrangements to participate.
