Hamlin – September 26, 2020 at age 86. Predeceased by his mother, Edna Fike Hoyt, his parents Kenneth L. and Marie Hoyt Sr., his siblings Robert (Evelyn) Hoyt, Richard (Doris) Hoyt, and Joy (Warren) Cleveland; in-laws Vincent & Jewel Taylor, brother-in-law Paul Worcester. Kenneth is survived by his loving & devoted wife, Tamara of almost 36 years (Oct.6th) ; brother Bruce (Neva) Hoyt; sons Stephen (Stacie), Lee, and Jeff (Sheryl) Hoyt; step-sons William (Jennifer) and Mark (Olga) Edwards; grandchildren Shirley (Joshua) Hoyt, Madison Hoyt, William (Jessica) Edwards, Rebecca (Lionel) Edwards, Jonathon (Tiffany) Edwards, Megan DeLano, Tyler Edwards, McKenzie Edwards, Tamara J. Edwards, Raquel (Ricardo) Rosado, Rigoberto Perez, Carmen (Anthony) Figueroa; sister-in-law Pamela Worcester along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Kenneth was a source of much humor in the family and would catch people off-guard with it when he could. He had stories that encompassed his many experiences in the US Army in Korea and his love of hunting, cars, music, and he even wrote poetry. He loved to travel and was actively involved in planning our many vacations. Through our travels, we had opportunities to make friends from different countries and maintain contact with them today. After his retirement from Kodak in 1986 with 34 years, he was interested in landscaping our garden. I often came home from work to find he had another idea to make changes to our garden by laying out garden hoses to show me what he wanted to do. Of course, we did all of his ideas.
While I was still working, he would pack my lunches and include love notes in the form “Love Is” from the local paper. We would talk every day while I ate my lunch. He was always loving and considerate and for birthdays, anniversaries, he would give me a loving card plus a humorous card. He was known for sending humorous cards to family members and friends on their special days which they look forward to reading. Every month, he would put a new funny message on our answering machine. People would call to hear the new message. The grandchildren called him “Grumpy” Ken and they loved to talk to him.
Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, October 17, 2020, from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Fowler Funeral Home, 340 West Avenue, Brockport, New York 14464. An invitation only private Funeral Service will be held from 11:30 to 12:00pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Archbold, Ohio.
