Firefighters go above and beyond the call of duty

On November 19, 2020, the Ridge Road Fire District Engine Company 254 responded to a call for help for a male who fell off of a ladder outside his residence. Upon arrival firefighters found a male sitting in a chair in his driveway. The patient stated he fell while hanging his Christmas lights. The patient had a shoulder and knee injury and needed to be transported to an area hospital.

Once patient care was transferred to Monroe Ambulance, Firefighter Wilder immediately grabbed the step ladder and began to finish hanging the lights while Lt. Sauer assisted him.

The patient was able to watch them as they completed his task for him while he was being loaded into the ambulance and was very appreciative.
