Shirley D. Conheady

Rochester – Shirley Doles Conheady, died Sunday, December 27, 2020 after a long illness, aged 91. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Richard Sr. and baby daughter, Mary. Shirley was the eldest daughter of George L. and Kathleen Doles. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Freida and Kathleen Burkhartzmeyer and brother, George Doles. 

She is survived by her children, Phyllis (Mark) Stehm, Christine (Kenneth) Jamison, Liz Donaldson, Catherine “Kay” Conheady (Beth Williams), Richard Jr. (Jeffrey Larson); Grandchildren, Daniel (Carolyn) Stehm, Julie (Christopher) Wheeler, Rachel (Ross) Eppinette, Patrick (Amanda) Donaldson, David (Carolina Gutierrez Valdes) Donaldson and Laura Conover; great-grandchildren, Kiara, Ella and Sean Stehm, Elizabeth and Kate Wheeler; brothers, Joseph (Nancy) Doles and Paul (Jane) Doles, sister-in-law, Marcia Doles and brother-in-law, David (Korleen Dickinson) Hanning and many cousins, nieces, nephews and long-time friends. 

Shirley will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her wonderful entertaining, love of cooking and baking, and her beautiful gardens. She was a devoted genealogist and member of the Ska-Hase-Ga-O Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Chili Garden Club, Brooklea Country Club and a long-time member of St. Pius X parish. 

Shirley’s children are grateful to all of the staff of Parkridge Living Center Cottage 100 for their competent, respectful and dedicated care of Shirley for the past 3 plus years, especially during the pandemic. 

While it will not be the gathering Shirley would have liked, without handshakes, hugs, conversations sharing memories and all of her children present a viewing will take place Wednesday, December 30 from 4:00 until 7:00 at Leo Bean Funeral Home. Masks required and please observe physical distancing. Interment and graveside prayers Thursday, December 31 at 1:00 PM, St. Pius the Tenth Cemetery on Chestnut Ridge Road. Memorial mass and celebration of life at a later date.
