Churchville-Chili seniors Taylor Fletcher, John Iacucci and Paul Fricano have spent years in black and orange Saints jerseys. They will don new colors in the fall after solidifying their collegiate athletic plans. Iacucci and Fletcher both signed National Letters of Intent for Division II universities and Fricano has made a commitment to a Division I university.
Iacucci, a three-time captain for the C-C football team, will head to Malone University in the fall. After quarterbacking for the Saints, Iacucci will be under center for the Pioneers in Canton, Ohio. Iacucci is a school record holder in multiple categories including most passing yards in a game (333) and most passing completions in a game (28). This past season, he was selected Ontario Honda Player of the Week twice (Sept. 13 and Oct. 19), named First Team All-Greater Rochester and First Team Monroe County and received Monroe County Division II Player of the Year honors. He will major in psychology at Malone University.
A center mid-fielder who has seen playing time in 10 of the 11 soccer positions, Taylor Fletcher will stay close to home as a collegiate student-athlete. Fletcher, a four-year varsity starter, will head to Roberts Wesleyan to play soccer for the Redhawks. This past fall, Fletcher was selected the Monroe County Division III Player of the Week for Sept. 16 and was a First-Team All-County Selection for the second consecutive year. She also earned Second Team All-Greater Rochester accolades.
Fricano, a kicker for the Saints football team, has committed to Division I University of Cincinnati as a preferred walk on. Fricano is the co-record holder of the longest field goal in Saints football history with a 46-yard field goal this past season. He was named a member of the All-State Second Team. Along with kicking for the Bearcats, Fricano will major in sports administration.
Iacucci, Fletcher and Fricano join a growing list of current seniors who have collegiate athletic plans. Thus far, seven student-athletes from the Class of 2014 will continue to participate in the sports they are passionate about while pursuing a degree.
