Town of Parma Justice swears in Peace Officers
In February, the Town of Parma conducted its annual swearing-in of Peace Officers. They are members of the Parma Special Police Department, an all-volunteer organization that operates under continuing recruitment. Each year the Town Board re-appoints its’ employees and officials. Upon being hired, each employee signs an Oath of Affirmation.
In addition to four of the seven existing officers being sworn in, the Honorable Judge Michael Sciortino also swore in one new officer who will be attending the Academy for NYS Peace Officers, being held at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility later this month.
Recruitment is open to Monroe County residents. Anyone with a clean criminal background, who is of good moral character, possesses a good work ethic, and a valid NYS Driver’s License is encouraged to inquire about positions within the Parma Special Police Department.
