Firefighters Construct Little Library
You may see a new building on the property of the Ridge Road Fire District’s Stone Ridge Station. This miniature firehouse is a “Little Library” created to mirror the Stone Ridge Station.
The “Little Library” is used to help provide fire safety materials and books to the children of the neighborhood. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the Fire District’s fire prevention program has been limited to online presentations and has had to stray from in-person fire prevention instruction. Having the Little Library provides us a great way to disseminate fire prevention materials to children of all ages.
The crew from Group 3 (Lt. Balok, and Firefighters Shannon, Neufeglise, Tucker, and Steves) at Stone Ridge were instrumental in preparing the site and putting the little library together. Barnes and Noble, the National Fire Academy, American Red Cross, and Staff from Radiation Oncology @ Wilmont Cancer Institute Greece provided the contents. Flash Point Customs provided the signage for the little library.
