A Shelter Near You

I volunteered for a local animal control and dogs being held for court cases happened. It was heart breaking to see these companion animals go crazy from the conditions they had to live in while in the shelter.
I was lead to volunteering after my own experience. A dog growled and lunged at my dog, while on our property. The owner of the other dog reached down and got bit by my dog who was reacting to the other dog. The local police came and “offered” to take my dog for the quarantine period. Thank goodness I declined and said I would do it myself, because that would have been considered surrendering and my dog would have been held and euthanized after the period of time was over. Fortunately for me my neighbor understood it was an accident and we resolved the issue out of court.
People need to ask themselves do you know what your local community laws are and what will happen to your dog if there is any kind of accident like this.
I think this whole situation is nothing but a local small town government with inflated egos wasting tax payer money. They should let the dog go home really. And start to look at their laws and policies about this sort of thing more humanely.
