The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists in the Town of Gates of a temporary lane closure and new traffic signals in place along Howard Road, between Buffalo Road and Hinchey Road.
A portion of the northbound lane along Howard Road is closed, just south of the CSX railroad overpass, and traffic signals at each end of the lane closure will accommodate alternating one-way traffic until repairs are made to the roadway. Motorists should expect minor delays and consider taking an alternate route.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
