Retired Monroe County Fair Manager pens memoir
Fran Tepper’s name was in the Rochester papers a lot in the 1990s and 2000s, sometimes to share innovations at the Monroe County Fair, sometimes to fight back against negative media and political pressure often unfairly levied against the fair.
Now she is back with a fun, frank, honest memoir about her years as executive director of the Monroe County Fair, growing what was once called “an embarrassment to the industry” into one of the most innovative fairs in New York State and earning her a place as president of the New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs as well as president of the Henrietta Chamber of Commerce, which named her Business Person of the Year in 2000.
Cosmographia Books, a Rochester-based publisher, announced the launch of Tepper’s debut memoir, Fair Lady, Memoirs of a County Fair Manager, in June 2021. After two launches, one in-person and one online the week of July 11, Tepper is embarking on a regional book tour with the following upcoming events:
•July 31, 2 p.m. – Tepper will be reading at Books Etc. in Macedon
•August 14, 2 p.m. – Tepper will be signing copies of Fair Lady at Barnes & Noble in Pittsford
More events are in the planning stage and will be listed at CosmographiaBooks.com.
