Free Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience for Monroe County high school students

Summer will not be the same for students who experience S.A.M.E., the Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience. This three-week advanced manufacturing program begins July 11 and is free for high school students in Monroe County. Participants earn three MCC credits for free, and gain valuable experience in one of this area’s growing career fields. It offers an opportunity to learn about CNC machining, mills, lathes, computer aided design, blueprints, and Fusion 360. Students must have completed Algebra 1 to participate. Also, they must have their own transportation and lunch.

S.A.M.E. is based at WEMOCO Career and Technical Education Center in Spencerport and will include field trips to advanced manufacturing facilities. Registration is open now at monroe2boces.org/SAME through May 1, or students can ask their school counselor for more information.
