Ogden recognizes Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association Ladies’ Auxiliary on its 75th anniversary

At the May 25 Ogden Town Board meeting, Town Supervisor Mike Zale and members of the board presented a proclamation to the Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association Ladies’ Auxiliary, which recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of its founding.

“It’s always a privilege to recognize and celebrate important milestones in the history of organizations in the Town of Ogden,” said Zale. “The Ladies’ Auxiliary has always been an integral part of our community. Their contributions make a positive difference to the lives and safety of so many residents.”

The local Ladies’ Auxiliary has one of the most active memberships in New York State with over 40 members. Their mission is to support and strengthen the fire district, its families, and the surrounding community with their time, efforts, and income; with a strong focus on providing philanthropic funding for charitable organizations that are in service to the community.

Among other things, the Ladies’ Auxiliary hosts family activities in conjunction with the Fire Department, actively works on community outreach, and holds fundraising events that community members enjoy; with the Spencerport School District, they collect and donate school supplies, provide a $500 scholarship to graduating seniors, and participate in yearly Fire Prevention Programs.

“We’re blessed to have a strong volunteer firemen’s association supported by such a generous and dedicated Ladies’ Auxiliary,” said Zale. “I’m grateful for their kindness and willingness to serve others. Thank you to our auxiliary members for all you do to support our firefighters each day. Congratulations on celebrating your 75thAnniversary!”
