OFC Creations Theatre Center will present various school edition productions for ages 4 through 18, with performances running through August 27.
OFC Creations Theatre Center offers the largest summer theatre program in Western New York, with shows for elementary, middle, and high school students. These shows typically run for one to two hours, depending on the age of the performers. They are presented at either the OFC Creations Theatre Center, 3450 Winton Place, Rochester, or the KODAK Center Studio Theater, 200 West Ridge Road, Rochester.
“Pint-sized” camps for elementary school children are centered around public speaking, confidence building, and having fun. Often, the students will assist the instructor with writing the script for their short show – focusing on the story’s beginning, middle, and end, as well as which characters will have each line. Middle school productions are larger in scale but still time efficient. These “kid camp” shows include full cast musical numbers as well as opportunities to feature soloists, specialty dancers, and supporting characters. Whereas younger campers perform abridged versions of Broadway shows, the teen productions tackle a full Broadway or off-Broadway-length show with a script and score designed for adults and professionals. These teen camps feature a range of students, from first-time performers to those bound for Broadway.
