The Sweden highway department will do its last leaf collection on Friday, December 9. Leaves in the town outside of the village should be raked to the edge of the road (not in ditches) by Thursday, December 8. There will not be another brush pick up until the spring.
The highway department has been busy installing snow fence and preparing its equipment for the snow and ice season. Residents of subdivisions may also notice the department installing markers at intersections to help cut back on lawn damage during plow operations.
