Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post 954 hosts the 7th District

On Sunday, December 11, Churchville’s Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post 954 hosted the 7th District’s quarterly meeting. The American Legion’s 7th District encompasses Cayuga, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates counties. The meeting was opened by welcome remarks from Post Commander Ken Juergens as he welcomed Deputy NY Department Commander Jim Bojanowski, 7th District Commander Dale Mosher, his staff, and representatives from each county and many posts throughout the area.

Over 90 people attended the meeting, allowing Post 954 to showcase it facilities with the many improvements that have been made over the past couple of years. Important discussions over memberships, veteran support, latest Legion updates, Boys States program, Legion Baseball, Boy Scouts, and other topics were presented.

Churchville was also host to the Sons of the American Legion 7th District meeting. Founded in 1932, Sons of The American Legion exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires. S.A.L. members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. The district discussed similar issues and service programs as the Legion.

Post 954 provided space, electronic support, a hearty lunch, and a great atmosphere that was noted by NY Department, District, and Monroe County leadership. These meetings are held in different counties, and the Harvey C. Noone Post was proud to represent this area.
