The Parma Hilton Historical Society monthly program will be held Monday, April 10, 7 p.m., in the Ingham Room at the Hilton Community Center 59 Henry Street. Ken Slaugenhaupt will give a presentation on the Holland Land Map Survey.
Slaughenhaupt, a retired surveyor and member of the Lewiston Historical Society, will share his knowledge of surveying and the extensive process that had to be undertaken by Joseph Ellicott and his crews to complete the survey of the Holland Purchase from 1797 to 1800. He will also share the process that was undertaken to recover any remaining markers left of the original survey.
All are welcome to attend. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.
