Byron-Bergen adds Hundred Club for student recognition

The Hundred Club, a recognition of students who achieve a perfect score on a New York State Regents examination, is the newest facet in Byron-Bergen Central School District’s initiative to create a more academically-minded school culture. The initial members of the Hundred Club (and the tests they aced) were announced on September 3.

•Lucas Audsley – Comprehensive Examination in English (B-B 2013 graduate)
•Christine Burke – United States History and Government (B-B 2013 graduate)
•Colleen Clay – Comprehensive Examination in English
•Michaela Kenward – Global History and Geography
•Maria Levchuk – Comprehensive Examination in English (B-B 2013 graduate)
•Laura Redinger – Comprehensive Examination in English (B-B 2013 graduate)
•Amanda Streeter – Comprehensive Examination in English (B-B 2013 graduate)
•Adam Walter – Integrated Algebra

Winners receive special Hundred Club certificates and their names are displayed in the Jr./Sr. High School’s atrium.

According to district officials, Byron-Bergen’s growing emphasis on academic excellence is exemplified by the new Hundred Club, along with the current Academic Varsity Letter and Scholar Card Program.

•Academic Varsity Letter celebrates exceptional achievement based upon quarterly academic averages. Awards are given at the annual Academic Recognition Night.

•The Scholar Program recognizes students’ personal success in Effort, Attendance and Academics. There are four scholar card levels: Gold High Honor Card, Silver Honor Card, Bronze Card and Special Recognition. Winners may participate in special events, and receive certifications, coupons, incentives and many other privileges. Seniors with a solid record of excellence throughout their career receive a monetary award at the annual Academic Recognition Night.
