On January 10, 2024, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich was joined by Town Councilmembers, the Greece Center Staff and all those involved with the project, at the Grand Opening of the new Center expansion.
“I would like to thank our construction team, my management team, that assisted throughout the project and our incredible Recreation staff. Today was the culmination of nearly two years of planning and construction and we are thrilled to be able to open the doors for our community. We unveiled another amenity for the families in Greece that was constructed without any borrowing. By utilizing grants and careful fiscal management, we were able to turn over this space to the community, debt free, while once again reducing the town tax rate,” Supervisor Reilich said at the opening.
The new expansion features 30,000 square feet of new space, combined with previously renovated space, there is now 60,000 square feet dedicated to the health and wellness of the community. A wellness center was added, featuring cardio and circuit training equipment, a dedicated cycling studio, a barre room, and several new programs spaces, both large and small.
The newly expanded walk track is 1/5 of a mile long, and features an abundance of natural sunlight. Walkers and runners will enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, walking comfortably, despite the actual weather outside.
