by Christopher R. Martin,
Brockport Fire District PIO

Brockport firefighters reportedly had a great time in Buffalo at the M&T Seneca One Tower on Saturday, March 23, for the annual American Lung Association “Climb for Air.” The team raised nearly $2,000 for the American Lung Association. Fire District officials are grateful to SUNY Brockport for allowing the team to train on campus in preparation for this event.

All six of the Brockport firefighters finished the climb. Firefighter Tyler Lamendola brought home second place in the individual “full gear on air” category, and the team brought home the first place trophy for the “full gear on air” in the overall team category. The team was also named the Rookie Firefighter Team – Top Fundraising Award winners.

Events and activities like this assist in keeping community volunteers fit and prepared to respond when called upon in their hometown.

Brockport’s team consisted of Brandon Bostian, Assistant Chief Adam Leggett, Jacob Vergari, Tyler Lamendola, Zach Alexander, and Alex Cervini.
