Robert Hughes passed away peacefully on March 27,2024.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert & Evelyn Hughes; and sister, Gertrude Dooley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; 6 children, Timothy Hughes, Colleen Dailey, Patrick (Suzan Vandersluis) Hughes, Kelly (James) Keenehan, Carrie Hennessy, & Julie Ball; 6 grandchildren, Collyn Dailey, Brianna & Shane Rivers, Caileigh & Leia Hennessy & Ariel Ball; and many nieces & nephews.
Bob met his wife, Sue, while they were both working at Northgate Wegmans. He worked for Wegmans starting at the age of 16 until he retired after 47 years. He started out bagging groceries & worked his way up becoming front end manager, store manager, district manager, director of store operations & then becoming an Executive VP. Wegmans was his 2nd family.
Bob had a great love for sports. He was a die hard Notre Dame & Yankees fan! We encourage everyone to honor Bob by wearing something ND or Yankees to his funeral.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd at 9:30AM at St. Lawrence Church (1000 N Greece Rd, Rochester, NY 14626). Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
