Dr. Ena Farley
Brockport – Dr. Ena Lunette Farley (née Morris) died August 4, 2024 at age 85.
She was born in Race Course, Jamaica, September 15, 1938. After graduating from The University College of the West Indies, she married economist Dr. Rawle Farley. She completed her doctorate in American History at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, writing the book The Underside of Reconstruction New York: The Struggle over the Issue of Black Equality. She was chairman of the State University of New York, College at Brockport’s Department of African and Afro-American Studies, a member of the Brockport school board, and a Regent for the State of New York.
She is survived by her four sons with her late husband Rawle: Anthony, Felipe, Christopher, and Jonathan, with the last of whom she spent 2-1/2 years isolated at home during the pandemic.
