A luncheon held at the Orleans County Jail was attended by several members of the Correctional Services Faith-Based Ministry.  During the October 17 event, one of their own was recognized by Sheriff Scott Hess for his many years of service.

David H. Ferris has been ministering to inmates since 1986.  He received a plaque from the Sheriff in recognition of his “28 Years of Dedicated & Faithful Service to the Sheriff’s Office & the County of Orleans.”

While Ferris said he plans to “scale-back” his ministry, he says he has no intention of retiring completely from this calling.
